Gatsomoeter, the Dutch company behind many of the UK’s speed cameras has created a new super camera, which has three still cameras, video camera and can zoom in to take detailed pictures of faces.

The ‘MCS’ could be in the UK by next year, according to UK distributor Serco.

The Home Office said: ‘The MCS is not type-approved and therefore cannot be used in the UK…at the moment.’

Gatsometer said Multiple MCS systems can be used in combination if required.

The MCS features:

  • One camera for each lane
  • One camera for two lanes
  • Overview camera
  • Digital video event recorder
  • White or infrared flash
