Caterham has created a stripped down version of its CSR260 model, the new Superlight.

The 2.3 litre Cosworth-powered road legal Caterham CSR260 Superlight is aimed soley at the enthusiast and powers from 0-60mph in 3.1 seconds. It has a top speed of 155mph.

In place of a windscreen, carpet, heater and weather gear, customers get a limited slip differential and a quicker steering rack. The Superlight also premiers ‘dynamic suspension’ dampers manufactured by MTCe as original equipment.

The Superlight also includes a wind deflector, a carbon fibre dashboard and wings, a black powder coated cockpit, quick release MOMO steering wheel and ‘black pack’ that disguises otherwise aluminium detailing.

It is 25 kilos (four stone, or 55 lbs) lighter than the standard CSR260.

Caterham is taking orders now with the first cars delivered in August. Prices start at £37,995 fully built.
