Scottish new car registrations have decreased by 10.82% to 4,837 units in February, compared to 5,424 new cars in the same period last year.

The overall UK figure shows a decrease of 1.42% with 75,996 units registered compared to 77,092 for February last year.

Douglas Robertson, chief executive of the Scottish Motor Trade Association, said: “Any decrease remains a disappointment. Nevertheless we do anticipate a busy March as we firmly believe that this is now starting to show as the prime month of the year for new car sales.”
