Daihatsu will launch a special edition SX version of its Sirion on April 1, priced at £9,290 on-the-road.

Based on the Sirion 1.3 SE, the SX adds a deep front spoiler with mesh grille, front fog lamps, side skirts and rear tailgate spoiler.

It will be available in solid red, black mica or silver mist. Standard equipment includes alloy wheels, air-conditioning, four electric windows, driver, passenger and side airbags, a radio/CD player and remote central-locking.

The interior has a pod-like oval speedometer which moves up and down with the height-adjustable steering wheel, matched by a pod-like rev-counter.

The Sirion 1.3 has a 106mph top speed, 0-60 mph time of 10.9 seconds and returns 58.9 mpg on the extra urban cycle and produces only 137 g/km.
