Wests of Cambridge has reinforced its presence in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, with the opening this month of its first Nissan franchise.
According to Wests’ Nissan brand manager Tony Bishopp, the decision to take on the franchise followed an approach from the carmaker.
Bishopp says: “It’s too early to talk about our targets for next year, but we are delighted to be representing Nissan and feel its model line-up is extremely strong.”
In May, Wests bought the assets of Kings Lynn Renault dealer Swan Street Motors after it ceased trading without warning. The closure prompted Nissan to terminate its dealer agreement with Swan Street and refer customers to their nearest Nissan outlet, JL Holmes in Wisbech St Mary.
Early in the second quarter of 2007, Wests plans to extend the facility creating a 10 to 11 car showroom, a first in the area for Nissan. “It’s a move that clearly proves our commitment to the brand,” says Bishopp.
Established in 1926, Wests is a family business with five other sites in Bedford, Newmarket and Cambridge.
