Mazda is presenting Kabura, a sportscar concept at this year’s North American International Auto Show.

Powered by a 2.0-litre version of Mazda’s DOHC 15v engine, the Kabura features a front-engine, rear-drive layout and is built using MX-5 chassis components, but offers a 3+1 seating pattern rather than the conventional 2+2.

Its interior is produced from recycled waste, most of which comes from the production of Nike trainers, Mazda revealed.

There are no plans to the Kabura to go into production.
