Sir John Egan has retired as chairman of automotive services group Inchcape.

He has been replaced by Peter Johnson, formally group chief executive, effective from January 1.

Andre Lacroix, who joined the board as group chief executive designate on September 1, took over as group chief executive from January 1.

Karen Guerra has also joined the board as a non-executive director.

As non-executive chairman Johnson will receive a basic annual salary of £275,000. As group chief executive, Lacroix will receive a basic annual salary of £620,000.
