Delphi’s Stonehouse plant in Gloucestershire is looking to Poland to recruit 100 workers it cannot find locally.

Another local, non-automotive employer, Dairy Crest, took on 41 agency staff from Poland at the end of last year.

Director and general manager Dave Friday told the Gloucestershire Echo: "We're looking for very skilled craftsmen, apprentice trained in precision engineering. There are fewer of these in the UK these days. It looks like in Poland there's a training regime that generates time-served, qualified apprentices."
