Mazda Motor Europe has closed April to June with sales up slightly compared to the same period last year with 73,200 units sold.

The Ford owned company was buoyed by Mazda3 sales, which were up over 33% on last June. Mazda’s RX-8 and the second-generation MX-5 roadster combined to take nearly 20% of their segment last month. Mazda B-Series pickup sales were up 65% and Mazda Tribute sales up 15% for the month as well.

“We have held our own during the first half of this calendar year,” says James Muir, president and CEO of MME.

“With the Mazda5, the third-generation MX-5, Mazda6 facelift and Mazda6 MPS set for launch in the next few months, we are looking at the rest of the year and beyond with optimism,” says Muir.
