According to an online survey by the Benfield Motor Group, only 32% of respondents would fit satellite navigation into their vehicle to bump up the resale value and 25% would opt for built-in computer game consoles.
More than 87% or customer said they would prefer leather seats when it came to choosing a car and considering the resale.
Dennis Wake, aftersales manager at Benfield Renault Nissan dealership in Gateshead, says: “Added extras in a car can add a significant amount of value when it comes to the resale of your vehicle. However, it is the extras like the colour of your vehicle, choice of hi-fi, or the choice of fabric that will prove the most economical rather than the latest gadgets.
“Regular check ups and servicing are always the most beneficial way to maintain the value of a vehicle, which is what we advise our customers to consider when purchasing their vehicle.”
