Automotive Data Processing (ADP), the US transaction processing and information systems supplier has, acquired Kerridge, the UK automotive computer provider, for approximately $300 million (£171.3m) in cash.

Kerridge operates a sales network through its own offices in Europe, South Africa and the Far East.

“In bringing this acquisition together, Kerridge has provided its customers with a very secure long term strategy. ADP is the best partner to bring that strategy to life,” said Richard Bennett, Kerridge’s chairman.

ADP generates $8.5 billion (£4.9bn) in revenues and has approximately 590,000 clients worldwide.
