Lexus has approved Tracker as its new built-in protection against vehicle theft> The device can be fitted by Lexus centres on new cars or for existing Lexus owners.

Approval has been given to Tracker Monitor as well as Tracker’s premium system, Tracker Horizon.

Tracker Monitor includes a remote sensor, which alerts Tracker HQ if the vehicle is illegally moved and Tracker Horizon operates as Monitor, but also incorporates satellite positioning technology as well as radio technology.

Tracker, which is operated by all 52 UK police forces, is an electronic homing device, hidden within vehicles. Should the vehicle be stolen, the system is activated and emits a silent radio signal. This can be picked up by police detection equipment, leading them to the vehicle’s exact location and sometimes the unsuspecting thieves.
