Honda has won the award for International Engine of the Year for the fifth consecutive year.

The 2.0 litre Honda S2000 and 1.0 litre Insight IMA engines won their respective size categories – while the IMA system found in the Civic picks up the award in the 1.0 to 1.4 litre category for the third year in a row.

Words like “immortal, absolute legend and phenomenal specific output” were used by the judges to describe the Honda S2000 2.0 litre engine.

Currently both the Insight and Civic IMA are elligible for a £700 Powershift grant in England and Wales, £1,000 in Scotland.
