Television personality and former rally driver Penny Mallory will host the prestigious AM Awards next year in Birmingham.

Known for presenting Channel 4's flagship motoring programme Driven, Mallory wrote herself into the history books when she became the first woman ever to drive a world rally car in the Network Q Rally of Great Britain. Now, she will take time out from covering the World Rally Championship for Channel 4, to present the industry 'Oscars' together with AM editor Stephen Briers at the International Conference Centre on Thursday, February 26, 2004. After dinner entertainment will be provided by Father Ted star and stand-up comedian Ardal O'Hanlon. With the November 30 deadline fast approaching, there is still time for companies to enter the awards. The 16 awards categories are split into headline (personality of the year, retailer of the year, carmaker of the year), retailer, aftermarket and innovation sections.

Independent consultant Carter & Carter will assess each entry and provide each company with a summary report of its findings.
