Kudos Cars has been formed in the North-West to offer wealthy members access to a stable of premium cars for an annual membership. The club will be limited to 100 members only.

Kudos members will be able to “change their car as often as they like without having to sign a disclaimer or worry about depreciation, insurance or maintenance. Membership may also allow early access to brand new models not available to the broader market.”

Behind Kudos is 35-year-old Tony Poole, chairman of the Manchester based Pure Synergy Group, who has invested £1.3 million in acquiring vehicles including Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Aston Martins.

Poole says: "The ethos behind Kudos is not only to provide our members with the most exclusive cars available but to match those with an unparalleled level of personalised service. That means cars delivered in pristine condition, naturally to their door or to whichever location they choose, whether that be in Manchester or the South of France."

Kudos Cars is due to go live in January 2004. Details of membership costs have not been given, but if you need to ask, maybe you should not apply. The club expects to feature special events for members and their families and, in the long-term, plans are in place to extend the concept across other luxury forms of transport. Kudos Helicopters will be launched in 2005, followed by Kudos Boats in 2006 and Kudos Planes in 2007.
