As part of the development plan that will succeed the current 'Nissan 180' turnaround plan after April 2005, Nissan may launch its luxury car brand Infiniti into Europe and into its home Japanese market, chief executive Carlos Ghosn told media at the Tokyo motorshow. Inifiti brand vehicles are currently only marketed in the US.
Infiniti originally echoed Toyota's Lexus as a US-only brand, but Toyota has subsequently re-branded its upscale Toyota models as Lexus in Japan too.
