Bedford Genuine Parts, the aftermarket division of the former commercial vehicle manufacturer, has appointed Amethyst Group Logistics Division to handle sourcing and supply of components.

The contract also covers support of the Ministry of Defence's fleet of more than 9000 Bedford trucks.With about 160,000 vehicles worldwide, the firm receives support from an established network of dealers distributors and major customers in the UK.

Now, Amethyst is updating its website to support Bedford's vehicle range with its own global sourcing technology. The news builds on previous agreements that saw Amethyst Group parent company, Automotive Group Limited, acquire the rights to design and market Bedford Genuine Parts from ERF.
