Tyrespot, the Newcastle-based tyre wholesale and fast-fit business, has added two new retail centres to its network in the North-east. The first is a 10,000 sq ft shop on the Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead, one of the largest business parks in the UK.

The second is in a precinct location in Darlington, bringing the retail outlet total to nine. Each features Lassa as a main tyre brand and offers full tyre, wheel, exhaust and fast-fit service.

“We believe the time is right to expand the tyre retail side of the business, and these two shops are a neat fit in strengthening our presence in and around Newcastle and also extending our scope into Darlington,” says Tyrespot managing director John Shaw.

nAnthony Pollard of Kumho (UK) has been appointed interim president of the Imported Tyre Manufacturers' Association. He replaces Gokhan Cuceloglu of Lassa Tyres who has been recalled to Lassa's headquarters in Turkey.
