LuK Aftermarket Services has announced ambitious plans to expand in the UK after identifying key areas for investment. The company intends to close down its Burton upon Trent office and move the light clutch operation to its Hereford location, which had spare capacity. In addition to generating a cash fund, it enables LuK AS to adopt a single business approach to its light and heavy clutch business throughout the UK.

The move is scheduled to be completed by the end of August. LuK AS has also adopted the TecCom business to business software, which allows customers to order product electronically. TecCom has been used in mainland Europe for the past 12 months, and this is the first launch in the UK.

“Customers large and small have shown an interest in trading with us using the secure and proven TecCom platform,” says LuK AS director Mike Ward. “They can now look up parts, see and review stock availability as well as order and view order progress at the touch of a button.”

He is confident the streamlined process will appeal to new customers as the company looks to develop its position in the UK. TecCom says plans are in place for suppliers Delphi, Federal Mogul, Mahle Filters and Sachs Boge to adopt its software.
