Prestige dealer group HR Owen has teamed up with specialist performance vehicle rental company City Inter-Rent to offer loan cars to customers.

Originally offering Mercedes-Benz models only, City Inter-City, which was formed in 1999, is expanding its fleet to include Porsche, Bentley, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Lotus and Maserati as well as Audi, BMW, Volvo, Volkswagen. The additional brands reflects HR Owen's portfolio of franchises. City Inter-Rent director David Cooke said: "Whether a customer's car is in the bodyshop for a few days and their insurance company won't provide a loan car, or a customer simply requires a particular car for a weekend away, that's where City Inter-Rent steps in."

Details of the scheme will be available throughout the majority of HR Owen's London dealerships.

"Involvement with HR Owen also has purchasing benifits and provides a disposal channel for ex-fleet vehicles.

"We believe it will be a fruitful partnership for both companies," said Mr Cooke
