Accident management firms, facing a static and oversupplied car repair market, are expected to turn their attention to the relatively underdeveloped motorcycle industry.
Bikers Legal Defence has announced plans to invest £2m in an accident claims management initiative over the next two years. The Bournemouth-based company already has a fleet of 900 hire motorcycles.
John Burns, BLD managing director, said: "If we can help reduce the claims costs, but provide everything that bikers need to get them back on the road following a crash, then we can help the insurance companies keep the cost of bike insurance down."
