International Motors has appointed a management team for its new Daihatsu operation, Daihatsu Vehicle Distributors, promising greater support for the dealer network and a series of model launches.

Midlands-based IM acquired Daihatsu's UK distribution business from Inchcape last February in a £9m deal. Andrew Edmiston, son of IM Group chairman Bob Edmiston, moves from his position of IM Truck UK managing director and Isuzu France chairman to head the new operation.

Joe McCue, who has worked with Daihatsu for 10 years, is appointed sales director.

Marketing director Paul Tunnicliffe returns to Daihatsu after six years with automotive marketing agencies and is joined by Peter Jessop, product marketing manager, and Phil Barnard, aftersales manager.
