A new Suzuki B-sector car to compete against Fiesta, Corsa and Polo will be unveiled at the Paris motor show in October.

It is understood the newcomer will be available as both a 3dr and 5dr and have a range of high-efficiency engines which pay particular attention to the environment.

Prices are likely to start at around £7,000 when it goes on sale in the UK next year.

A further addition to the Suzuki range will come in April 2001 when the stretched version of the Vitara, codenamed X26, is unveiled.
