Ford hopes to attract more all-makes vehicles, including older models, into its 300-strong Rapid Fit fast-fit network after upgrading its servicing programme.
The carmaker believes the rationalised programme, to include own-makes 'specialised scheduling' at 10,000 mile intervals, will offer customers “better value, clearer pricing and more convenience”. It will replace the existing Rapid Fit 'super' and 'super plus' options.
The Rapid Fit network is also likely to introduce a combined vehicle service and MoT test for a “competitive”, all-inclusive price. If the MoT is not due at the time of the service, most branches will supply an MoT voucher which can be redeemed within 12 months of issue, said Ford.
Non-Ford owners will receive a free Rapid Fit service booklet which will be stamped at the time of service, helping them to maintain residual values.
