Renault has revealed the pricing and specification of its new long-range Zoe EV hatchback – claiming a potential pure-electric range of 250 miles.
The new Z.E.40 battery claims the longest range of any mainstream electric vehicle, accoriding to the French manufacturer, which has priced its ground-breaking newcomer from£23,445 as an outright purchase (including the £4,500 government grant) or £17,845 as part of a battery lease scheme.
Battery lease agreements reflect the customer’s expected mileage and start from £49 per month with a new ‘Unlimited’ option priced at £110 per month.
Renault estimates the new Zoe, fitted with the new Z.E.40 battery, has a real-world range of between 186 miles in temperate conditions and 124 miles in extreme cold conditions.
The existing 22kW Zoe remains available with prices ranging from £13,995 or £18,995 under the same purchase terms.
Both Zoe batteries will propel the EV hatchback to 62mph in 13.5 seconds and a claimed top speed of 84mph.
Both 22kW and 40kW models attract a 7% BIK rate and all Zoe models sold to private customers are supplied with a fully-installed 7kW fast-charging box that enables convenient charging at home.
A new top-of-the-range Signature Nav trim level has been added to the Zoe line-up for the 2017 model year and will arrive in UK showrooms from January 2017.
The updated Zoe line-up now features three trim levels – Expression, Dynamique Nav and the new top-of-the-range Signature Nav.
The entry-level Expression trim – only available in conjunction with the 22kW battery – includes a seven-inch touchscreen housing Renault’s R-Link2 infotainment system with TomTom satnav, climate control, electric windows and electric heated mirrors, cruise control, speed limiter, keyless entry and start-up and Bluetooth connectivity.
Renault’s Z.E. Connect app, meanwhile, allows drivers to remotely monitor battery levels and charging status via their smartphone or computer.
A five-star Euro NCAP rating has been awarded to the Zoe thanks to standard safety features such as ESC with traction and understeer control, Hill Start Assist and front and side driver and passenger airbags.
Zoe Dynamique Nav adds automatic lights and wipers, rear parking sensors, rear electric windows and electrically operated, heated and folding door mirrors, 16-inch ‘Black Shadow’ alloy wheels and a leather steering wheel and gear lever.
Dynamique Nav also benefits from a one-year subscription to the Z.E. Interactive app, allowing owners to remotely charge their Zoe and schedule charges, as well as set cabin temperature pre-conditioning.
Renault’s all-new Signature Nav trim features leather upholstery, heated front seats, a seven speaker Bose sound system, rear parking camera, 16-inch ‘Grey Shadow’ alloy wheels and driver’s seat lumbar adjustment.
Mars Red, Titanium Grey and Ytrium Grey (Signature Nav only) paint colours have also been added to the Zoe line-up for 2017, with Renault logos and badging switching from blue to chrome to accommodate this new colour selection.
