Duncan Movassaghi has been appointed to the role of head of service and parts for Volkswagen Passenger Cars, replacing Stephen Butt who will move next month to Porsche GB as general manager – ownership.
Movassaghi, who is currently head of operations for Skoda, joined the Volkswagen Group in 2010 from international pharmaceutical company Celesio AG.
During his time with Skoda, he has led the brand’s sales through a period of significant growth, peaking with a record high of over 66,000 registrations in 2013 and a market share of 2.9%.
As head of service and parts, Movassaghi will be responsible for the quality of service delivery and parts sales throughout the Volkswagen UK network, as well as aftersales programmes and customer satisfaction and retention.

Movassaghi will start his new role on April 1, reuniting him with Hazelwood who had previously headed Skoda before taking his current Volkswagen role.
