Hampshire-based Snows Motor Group will expand into Poole in January by opening a Volvo and Seat dealership.

The new dealership, trading as Kings, will occupy a vacant site and will join the existing four Volvo franchises and two Seat franchises already held by Snows in the Hampshire and Dorset area.

The showroom is currently undergoing refurbishment. A Seat spokesman said it fills a territory previously served by Bournemouth Seat, an owner-driver operation which closed earlier this year and sold its site for redevelopment.

Volvo said Poole had been unrepresented for several years. 

“Both Volvo Car UK and Kings feel there is an additional opportunity to the west of Poole and, of course, the Weymouth area will become a bigger opportunity both before and after the Olympic Games,” said a spokeswoman.

Stephen Snow, Snows’ chairman, said: “In this very testing climate our Poole dealership will not only create valuable jobs, but it will add to the local economy.”

Snows is recruiting for positions across the new business.
Snows has 13 franchised dealerships representing brands,
including BMW, Lexus, Mini, Seat, Toyota and Volvo. It employs more than 300 staff and has a turnover in excess of £100 million.
