Fix Auto UK is preparing to develop its network in 2008 after a period of consolidation last year.
Its head, John Matthews, said he pruned four bodyshops from the network in 2007, cutting it back to 23 sites. That move was to maintain quality within the network, he said, as not all members were prepared to make improvements to comply with Fix Auto’s commitment to PAS125, efficient supply chain provision and open accounting within the network.
In October David Calder joined Fix Auto in October from Nationwide Crash Repair Centres, where he was general manager of its Stourbridge site. Calder’s role as national operations manager comprises of helping Fix Auto bodyshops develop business performance for both themselves and insurer clients.
