One in three new cars sold in the UK is fitted with ESP – electronic stability programming. The fitment rate two years ago was just 20% – among the lowest in the EU.

Figures released by system developer Bosch shows ESP’s penetration is now 34%, but the UK lags behind Germany, where two out of three new cars have ESP.
