ReMIT, the motor trade's training business, has moved to a new north west regional base at the Manchester College of Arts and Training (MANCAT) motor industry skills campus in Openshaw, Manchester, recently refurbished at a cost of £3.5m.

Stephen Ramsay, ReMIT managing director, says: “We work with 18 colleges within the north west and have an excellent relationship with the staff at MANCAT. The relocation provides a more central location within the region and allows us to forge closer links with training bodies and businesses in the region.”

MANCAT's campus is one of the few ‘elite’ centres of vocational excellence (COVE) for the retail motor sector in the UK.

It was awarded this status in recognition of its training in the vehicle repair sector and for the standard of its training resources. These include industry standard equipment for diagnostic testing, paint refinishing, MOT and body jig work, as well as classrooms and a learning resource suite.
