Nissan has pledged 100 million yen (£509,000) in response to the devastation caused by the Boxing Day tsunami in Asia and East Africa.
Carlos Ghosn, president and CEO of Nissan Motors, says: "We have all been shocked and saddened by the earthquake and its devastating effects on the lives of millions in the region.
Over the coming weeks and months, Nissan will be working closely with local and international authorities to determine the most effective way of allocating these funds."
In addition to the 100 million yen support, Nissan has also pledged to match employees’ personal donations with an equivalent contribution to the disaster relief effort.
