The Milton Keynes-based supplier debuted the brand at the Aftermarket Show this month, with Advan tyres forming part of a National Tyre Distributors Association ‘Model Tyre Retailer’ centrepiece, created in conjunction with wheel alignment specialist Pro-Align and garage equipment supplier Rema Tip Top UK.
“The aim is to recruit a selective group of dealers, invariably independents, that will commit to buying a specific number of units in a campaign trial,” says a Yokohama spokeswoman.
“This will be a new concept for us. We’ve got a few people on board already, but we hope it will eventually evolve into a nationwide Advan Club.”
The package being offered to approved dealers includes preferential terms on product, point of sale marketing and shop floor promotions, plus branded items such as overalls. The network may also be marketed via Yokohama’s advertising in national enthusiasts magazines, although the spokeswoman says this is yet to be finalised.
