Renault’s new Modus is now available to order with deliveries starting in September and prices starting at £9,250 on-the-road.
There will be five engine choices, with three petrol and two diesels. The petrol line-up comprises a 1.2-litre 16V 75hp and 1.4 16V 98hp, with diesel powerplants including the 1.5-litre dCi 65 and dCi 80.
All of the engines have manual five-speed gearboxes, with a four-speed ‘Pro-active’ "flick-shift" automatic available on the 1.6 litre petrol Dynamique and Privilège models.
The list of standard equipment on the Modus includes: ABS with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), driver’s side blind-spot eliminating mirror, electric front windows, height adjustable steering wheel, ISOFIX three-point seat attachment system, remote control central locking, Renault Anti-Intruder Device (R.A.I.D.), "See Me Home" headlights, four airbags (driver and front passenger two-stage adaptive and two lateral), variable assisted power steering.
At launch there will be 14 models available, across four trim levels, with the top-of-the-range Initiale version due in 2005.
