Trafficmaster, the supplier of live traffic information, is launching a new “intelligent” navigation system. Smartnav combines satellite navigation, live traffic information and a “personal assistant” to answer drivers' questions.

The system uses Motorola mobile phone technology to help guide drivers and also offers SOS call assistance, which connects the driver to emergency services. It costs £499 with an annual subscription charge of £120.
