MG Rover Group took £1m in orders on the first day of the British International Motor Show last week. The cars are mainly destined for the retail market, but include a conquest fleet deal.

A major attractant on the stand was the newly-announced MG XPower SV supercar.

"The car is displayed on the MG Rover Group stand along with the current range of MG and Rover products. This, combined with a display of a concept car, gives a firm indication of the Rover design direction., " says a company spokesman.
