Quicks Group has appointed a new chief executive, John Day who from June 11 will succeed David Beck who has held the post of acting chief executive since March. Mr Beck continues as a non-executive director.

Mr Day has 30 years experience in UK motor retailing, working in several dealership general management roles to divisional director positions with Lex Service and Inchcape Retail.

Mr Beck said: "I am delighted to have been able to quickly find a new chief executive for the group. I worked with John for eight years at Lex Retail Group and have a high regard for his motoring retailing abilities."
