Physical auction facilities are to be added to the internet auction and stock locator services presently offered by debis Remarketing Services.

Through its working partnership with Jet Logistics at the Long Marston defleeting and remarketing centre, it will give trade buyers and vendors access to a wide range of remarketing routes, plus pre-delivery inspection, valeting and other services in one location.

The Warwickshire site, close to the M40, M42 and M5 motorways, is proving to be a major asset in the disposal process, providing consistent used vehicle quality, the firm says.

Craig Elliott, debis Remarketing Services' director, said physical auctions had been the only remarketing channel missing from its services.

Since its launch in January 1999, debis Remarketing Services has seen an eight-fold increase in the volume of vehicles sold, most being defleeted vehicles from leasing companies, with further streams from rental companies and manufacturer overspill.

The company also has contact with 400 dealer groups across the UK, ensuring a pool of interest from the major buyers of ex-fleet vehicles.

The site deals with between 60 and 100 vehicles a day. Cars which do not sell through the stock locator or electronic auction will be transferred to the weekly physical auction when the service is up and running.
