A well-established and reputable repair shop in Skelmersdale is currently looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Car/Van MOT Tester. The ideal candidate will have experience carrying out MOT tests for Class 4 & 7 vehicles and a strong passion for delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities:

Conduct MOT inspections for Class 4 & 7 vehicles, ensuring they meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
Perform basic vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and general maintenance tasks.
Carry out repairs and maintenance work on various vehicle systems such as brakes, tyres, suspension, and exhaust systems.
Diagnose and repair common engine and gearbox issues, including clutch replacements.
Carry out tyre replacements and puncture repairs.
Perform basic diagnostics using dealer diagnostic tools for engine management systems.
Handle vehicle electrical fault finding and repairs.
Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate records of all services, repairs, and inspections.
The Candidate:

Full Class 4 & 7 MOT Tester qualification is essential.
Previous experience working as an MOT Tester, with a strong background in MOT testing and vehicle repairs.
Knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics, with experience in common repairs such as brakes, tyres, and engine management.
Experience using dealer diagnostic tools is highly desirable.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
