Listers Group has revealed plans to open its new dealership with Porsche with the creation of a “multi-million pound” site in the city alongside details of its new £10m Mercedes-Benz showroom.

The new Porsche Centre will be located on a two-and-a-half acre area of land, close to the Humber Bridge, on the Bridge Head Business Park if plans submitted on behalf of the group by Wykeland Developments are given the green light by planning officials.

Another planning application submitted by the group reveals plans which will see the luxury car retailer move its current Mercedes-Benz franchised site in Hull from its current Priory Park dealership to a six-acre location just off the A63, to the west of the city.

Commenting on the new venture with German sports car specialist, Porsche, Listers Group managing director, Geoff Lister, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for Listers to partner with Porsche as their range of innovative sports cars continues to expand and interest in Classic Porsche cars grows.

“Its prime position means it is effectively a window into the world of the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer, a company that has fascinated car enthusiasts for 70 years.”

Listers’ Porsche dealership plans detail the creation of a 22 car, double-height, luxury showroom featuring a Specification Lounge and hospitality area plus 14 state-of-the-art workshop bays.

The development is expected to see the creation of 50 new jobs and be completed in late 2019.

Director of the Porsche Centre Hull site, Listers’ Richard Kitteridge, said: “I’ve lived in Hull for the last 15 years and am really excited to be bringing this iconic brand to the city.

“Everyone dreams of owning a Porsche and we’re looking forward to making those dreams a reality with both new and approved pre-owned models on display.”

Listers plans for its Hull Mercedes-Benz franchise will triple the size of the group’s existing site, delivering parking and display space for 120 cars.

Franchise director, Gary Kinnersley, said: “With the incredible demand we have experienced in both sales and service in the past seven years, we have far outgrown our Priory Park site and are delighted to be working with Wykeland Group to develop the new premises on one of the busiest routes into Hull.”

The Mercedes-Benz showroom, which is expected to be completed in late 2019, will feature the latest Mercedes-Benz retail concept, immersing the customer in total luxury as they browse the range of cars on display.

A state-of-the-art, 20-bay workshop will cater for the growing number of Mercedes-Benz cars in Hull and the surrounding areas.

Kinnersley added: “This development is fantastic news – a showroom with the wow factor, the creation of 25 new jobs and an expansive used car display area creates a win-win situation for staff, customers and the local economy.”

David Donkin, property director of Wykeland Group, said: “We’re delighted Mercedes-Benz and Listers have chosen to invest at this prime location to create a superb, next generation dealership

“The site is perfectly located just off the main route into Hull, with easy access to Beverley, Leeds and York, so it offers great visibility to Mercedes-Benz and convenience for the brand’s customers.”
