Malcolm Earp has been appointed chief executive of Magma People, the automotive executive recruitment company.

Earp has more than 30 years' experience in the automotive industry covering distribution, marketing, technology and operations. He started his career with the Appleyard Group as a graduate trainee, then moved to Rover Group, Mitac and Polk. He started working with Magma Group as a programme director in 2005.
