ASE, the dealer business management company, has discovered that a French company is fraudulently using its name as a front to sell used cars in the UK.

The French business is using the name Automotive Services Europe, one of ASE’s subsidiary companies, and set up a website and Facebook page using ASE’s web address and global head office contact details in the UK as a front to sell used cars.

Rob Jones, chief executive of ASE, (pictured) said: “We knew it was serious when two men arrived at our offices to view a car, as a result it is now lodged with the Fraud Squad who have issued a Crime Reference Number and requested that all enquiries are reported via their Action Fraud Hotline, details of both can be found on our website www.ase-global.com.

“Additionally we wish to assure our clients that we have not started selling used cars.”
