The performance of Toyota’s UK training academy has been declared “outstanding” in a new report from the independent regulator and inspection body Ofsted.

The Nottingham centre undewent its latest assessment and earned the Grade 1 (outstanding) rating.

Opened in 2008, the £14 million facility provides block-release training for hundreds of students and young apprentices from across the country in maintenance and repair, customer service, body and paint and vehicle parts skills.

Graduates of the course achieve industry recognised qualifications and proceed to Toyota’s adult development programmes.

Ofsted's inspection report stated: "The overall effectiveness of Toyota’s apprenticeship programme is outstanding and provides excellent value for money. Learners enjoy their training and develop excellent industry skills, making a highly valued contribution to their workplaces.”
