John Poulsen will be the new Porsche Retail Group general manager from January replacing Chris Caygill who is leaving the business.
Poulsen has worked for Porsche for the past six years and was recruited into the business by Caygill. He has covered the roles of regional manager and, latterly, centre principal at Porsche Centre Guildford.
Caygill told AM: “It has not been an easy decision to arrive at, having completed nearly 10 years at Porsche and eight as head of the retail group.”
Using a sporting analogy about his future plans, he said: “I’ve been thinking about it since the start of the year and I feel as though I’ve got one big game in me before my legs give out.”
That ‘big game’ is likely to be within the automotive industry. Caygill said: “I’ve been inside this industry for too long to think about doing anything else.”
Caygill will stay within the business during a transitional period to hand over the reins of the Porsche Retail business to Poulsen during quarter one.
The Porsche Retail Group comprises five Porsche Centres which are based in Reading, Guildford, Hatfield, West London and Mayfair.
