The Citroen Retail Group is close to completing the acquisition of a dealership in Edinburgh.
The new site will be Citroen's second owned site in Scotland and its eighth in the UK in total.
A spokesperson from Citroen said: “We are still in final negotiations but everything should be done and dusted by the end of August.”
The Citroën Retail Group currently employs around 400 people, and sells almost 20,000 new and used vehicles a year. Annual turnover is £250 million.
John Martin Group and Eastern Western have both ruled themselves out as the group which has offloaded a Citroen site.
