Honda will launch two new versions of its Accord in September to help battle competition from the competitive D-segment saloon market.

Bernard Bradley, head of sales for Honda UK, said: “Our dealers tell us new buyers – especially those from the corporate sector – want a version that combines the advanced technology offered by high-end models, with more of the sporting features from other Accords in the range.”

The result is the new Sport GT, a chromed-out Accord kitted with spoiler, sports suspension, white pearl paint, smoked headlights, voice-activated satellite navigation system, cruise control, Bluetooth hands free telephone and 17-inch alloy wheels in dark graphite finish as standard. It goes on sale on September 1, priced from £20,767 (OTR).

Honda has also added an entry level diesel powered Accord to its line-up.

The 2.2-litre i-CTDi diesel SE is priced at £18,600 (OTR) and includes 16-inch alloys, stability assist, six-speed gearbox and Bluetooth Hands Free Telephone as standard. The SE will also reach the UK on September 1.
