New car registrations in Scotland in April totalled 13,878 units, a fall of 12.19% in comparison with April last year when 15,804 new cars were registered.
The overall UK figure shows a decrease of 4.04% with 179,457 units in April.
Douglas Robertson, chief executive of the Scottish Motor Traders Assosiaction, says: “Obviously we are disappointed at the downturn in April which is greater than the UK figure. However, reading March and April together, Scotland remains on a par with the rest of the UK.”
