Amicus and T&G members at Jaguar's Browns Lane plant will be balloted for industrial action next week following a mass demonstration through Coventry City Centre planned for November 27.

Ballot papers for industrial action will be issued to T&G and Amicus members at Browns Lane from November 29. Members will be asked if they are prepared to take strike action to defend the plant. The ballot closes on December 13.

Ford Jaguar management have agreed to meet with the trade unions in the first week of December. The company responded to the forthcoming ballot saying that industrial action would “not be in the interests of the company, employees or customers”.
