Tod Evans has announced that he will retire as the Peugeot Citroen Automobiles UK chairman at the end of December.

Evans will continue to perform a wider role within the UK motor industry as president of the SMMT, a role he will remain in for a full second term until June 2005.

He was appointed chairman of Peugeot Citroën Automobiles UK Ltd in April 2003, heading up PSA Peugeot Citroën Group's first corporate communications office in London.
