Vauxhall Finance has begun a UK-wide training drive to boost the ability and confidence of retailers selling its finance packages.

On successful completion of the course attendees become AFIP (Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals) certified, a financial qualification exclusive to Vauxhall Finance retailers in the UK.

David Prescott, UK national F&I manager, said: "When a buyer decides to purchase a car, the choice and volume of information can be overwhelming and even prohibitive. Dealing with an AFIP certified retailer assures customers that they care receving advice from a trained expert. For the retailer the training, together with an in-depth knowledge of Vauxhall Finance products, ensures their sales team can work confidently providing the most suitable finance and insurance programme."

22 retailers took part in initial training courses, which took place between October 2000 and May 2001. Vauxhall Finance is planning to make the course available on a quarterly basis in 2002. Successful graduates recieve follow-up sessions from an AFIP-certified Vauxhall Finance account manager after 30, 60 and 90 days.
