Nissan GB has hailed its first quarter sales performance, which saw registrations of its cars and light commercial vehicles climb by 36% year-on-year.
Dealers have told AM that there has been some self-registering within the network. Nissan GB had changed its financial year end to March 31st, and in order to reach its target had linked a third of the retail network’s annual volume bonus to their first quarter targets.
The quarter’s car registrations were up 46% at 23,542, with strong performances from Qashqai, Note, new X-Trail and Micra, said Nissan. The sales drive gave Nissan a 3.4% share of the car market, compared to last year’s 2.3%.
